Life Record Aug.10th 2020

You may carious about where’s the record for Aug.9th 2020? You do not know what the fcking happened to me yesterday. I got up pretty early yesterday, around 7 am and I watched IG’s game and it’s pretty bad. IG lose the game with VG and I played some games in the morning, as same as what I did this morning. And I was asked to go hiking with my host parents. There’s nothing wrong with hiking and there’s nothing wrong with being with my host parents. However, when you put these two things together, something terrible would be produced. We got home at around 10pm and we still did not have anything at that time.

Anyway, it’s the time to start my day right now.

8:29 To be honest, I do not have fcking idea what should I do in the morning, I am never a morning person which means I waste my time in the morning anyway. But even it’s wasting time, I want to waste my time in a meaningful way. However, it is really difficult to find something that can easily waste my time but also meaningful.

8:31 I find something that might be kind of meaningful but I am sure that it won’t take me a lot of time to do it. That’s finish my course selection for the Fall quarter. I talked about this topic with my host parents yesterday and the highly recommend me that I should not take a lot of courses during the Fall quarter since that’s my first quarter(I mean officially, Summer Session is just a piece of junk, they do not count for anything) in UCSD so that I should mainly focus on how to enjoy my college life instead of heavy studying. I am kinda persuaded by them because who does not want a easy and relax life? I am not really suffered in summer session and to be honest, these 6 courses in summer session do not really take me a lot of time but as I said before, who does not want a easy life.

8:36 Can not believe that I have already trash talked for like 5 hours, my bad it’s 5 minutes. Does not really matter. What I am gonna do right now is that I am going to open both the courses description page and the course selection page. (btw, the assignment date for me to do the course selection things is August 13th which is not really lucky and all but I guess it won’t affect me much because I think I can get a seat for the courses that I want to enroll anyway, except CSE12/15 and CSE21)

8:40 My strategy to choose the course is that I am gonna to something weird (my host parents ask me to do in this way because they said that people who are weird are usually the ones who can be “successful”. Even though I doubt the accuracy of this sentence, I can give a try for it.) Therefore, I am going to choose the most difficult course based on my major, that’s MATH31AH. However, I do not think that there will be a lot of students choose this course so I do not have seats to enroll. I am gonna to choose something that’s weird and worthy for me to choose them earlier. The upper limit for the credit I can get in fall quarter is 22. And 22 minus by 4 is 18. Therefore, I need to find four and half courses for the Fall quarter.

8:45 Checking philosophy courses. All the PHIL courses that are available in Fall are 1,10,12,13,26,27,28,31. PHIL1 is introduction to philosophy which seems absolutely terrible and boring. PHIL10 seems more interesting since it talks about the logic. PHIL12 seems like the course I need to choose because it’s about scientific reasoning and I guess not only because it sounds fun but I guess studying this course will also benefit my study in science field a lot. (At this point I am actually thinking about double major philosophy with another science major, will that be fun? LOL) PHIL13 seems as boring as PHIL1 since they are both introduction to philosophy, even though PHIL13 is more specific —- it talks about ethics. PHIL26 is the one that I must enroll — it talks about the relationship between science and religion I AM FCKING LOVE THESE THINGS because I want to destroy those fcking stupid religious things by the power of science. And PHIL31 is the one I am gonna enroll to, just because it’s weird and difficult.

8:56 I already have 3 courses on my hand. PHIL12 PHIL26 PHIL31 and how about PHIL10 also. Ok. A fcking sad news is that PHIL12 and 26 are no seats available. FCK U!

8:58 I realize I have to take AWP3 anyway in the FALL. So I already have 3 courses on my hand. PHIL10, PHIL31 and AWP3. I need to find 1 more 4 credit course and 1 more 1 credit course.

17:47 I do not fcking know what the fck did I do between 9am and 6pm but I guess that does not really matter at all. It’s time to finish my MATLAB questions.

MATLAB for Math 20D

MATLAB for Math 20D

Welcome to the gateway page for the MATLAB portion of Math 20D! This part of the course is an introduction to the use of computer software to solve ordinary differential equations. The labs are meant not only to teach you how to use the software but also to help you see how the underlying algorithms actually work. The material also aims to give additional perspective to topics covered in the lecture, and it presents a few real-world applications that you might end up encountering in your major.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the computer labs in AP&M are no longer available. You may install MATLAB on your own computer for free following instructions here. We recommend this. More detailed information can be found at Working from Home on the sidebar.

If you don’t have a computer, there is an option to request a loaner laptop here. MATLAB online works well if you use a Chromebook or you simply don’t want to install MATLAB. You can use it for free once you create a MathWorks Account using your @ucsd.edu email address. If you don’t have a computer but you have a tablet like an iPad, you can use MATLAB Mobile with a MathWorks Account. For the options above, you need to manage some M-files starting in the second assignment. CloudLabs also works and instructions are here. Beware it can be quite slow but you don’t need to manage those M-files. Note that you need to connect via UCSD VPN to use CloudLabs.

In general, each lab is self-contained and can be completed without prior MATLAB experience, although some assignments depend on commands learned in earlier labs.

Assignments 1. Introduction to MATLAB Due Aug 10
2. Visualizing Solutions to ODEs Due Aug 14
3. Numerical Methods Due Aug 21
4. Systems of ODEs Due Aug 28

The due dates above are the standard dates for all 20D courses, but please note that your instructor may assign different dates, in which case his or her assigned dates take precedence. Please check your class’s website to verify due dates.

Homework should be uploaded to Gradescope by 11:59 pm on the listed due dates. (See the instructions within Assignment 1 for more information.) Be careful to pace yourself with the rest of the course; if you see a midterm coming up near a MATLAB due date, it is to your advantage to do your homework early.

MATLAB Tutoring

In summer, there are no undergraduate MATLAB tutors. You can find help from your TAs on the MATLAB problems.

The MATLAB Quiz

During the last week of the summer session, you will have to take a MATLAB quiz.

  • You will be tested on your ability to use rudimentary MATLAB commands to solve basic computational problems and on your understanding of topics covered in the lab assignments.
  • The quiz will cover Assignments 1 through 4.
  • You can make use of gradescope and the course websites but no other websites.
  • The quiz is scheduled for one hour, although you most likely will not need the full amount of time.
  • Open book and notes. But you may not disclose the exam problems to any other person during the quiz days. Any sign of disclosure will be reported immediately to the Academic Integrity Office.
  • The quiz will be offered in Quizzes on Canvas. The problems are in the forms of multiple choices, numerical answers, etc. You don’t need to write/scan anything.

Quiz Time

The Math 20D quiz will be held

0:00 am PDT on Wednesday Sep 2 until 11:59 pm PDT on Thursday Sep 3
in “Quizzes” section on Canvas.

You can take it whenever the time is convenient for you during the period. The quiz starts the first time you access the quiz and ends after 60 minutes.

We do not offer make-up quizzes if you miss your quiz.

Feedback

If you have any suggestions or comments about the lab assignments, we’d love to hear from you. Also, if you encounter any mistakes or broken links, let us know. Send an email to the Senior MATLAB TA.

Life Record Aug.8th 2020

I have a lot of things to do today. But let me start my day with a League of Legends game

10:08 I have already played a normal game and after I played one more nexus blitz I am gonna to clean my room

12:44 Time to have lunch and ready to start my day.

17:22 Get up and finally actually start study CSE20(Discrete Math)

18:14 Finished CSE Day2 Lecture. Not bad, I finished it in 1 hour. Time to do some cleaning work.

18:26 Finished cleaning(still need to do the toilet and third floor though) and I am gonna to play 1 League of Legends game.

18:39 Finished one game and Kins is so OP.

00:16 I have finished my CSE20 homework and it’s time to relax a little bit.

Life Record Aug.7th 2020

Today is the second day for me to record my life. I actually feel more activated and better after I started record these things because I feel like what I am doing right now is not meaningless.

17:57 Start of my day. Task1: Clean my room(I guess it will take a lot of time to clean it since I am totally a lazy-bones)

18:30 Still far away from tidying my room. Time to take a rest.

19:19 Looking for courses. Wanna more credits.

21:57 Did not do anything. Not a good day to either clean or study.

23:03 Time to go to bed.

What a wonderful Day!

Life Record Aug.6th 2020

It’s Aug.6th 2020 23:19 EST, after several months I finally come back to my website. As the title said, these posts will not be interesting and great(since for some strange reason grammarly can not work on WordPress page so I expect to have a lot of grammar mistakes and typos, but anyway, that’s not important at all.)

One of the biggest reason for me to come back to my website is that I want to motivate myself by recording almost everything around me so that I would not waste my time on some meaningless things.

So my new life start right now: 23:23 (what a wonderful time) Aug.6th 2020.

The first thing I need to do is that I need to finish the MATH20D and lectures. Should not be difficult at all but just need some time in it. Ok. To be honest, it is really difficult to start because I find that I need to prepare the water and this and that. Anyway, after I get water from downstairs, I will gonna to ace all the lectures and all the homework in 3 and half hours.

Let’s go!

23:28 get the water and back to the table, should start studying shortly.

23:32 downloaded the PPT and video. Printing the PPTs.

23:40 Printing take longer than I thought, should be something wrong with google chrome though.

00:36 I finished the lecture. However, I am not 100% sure about what I learned. Anyway, Time to finished the homework.

02:09 Finished all the questions. Time to relax a little bit.

Btw, time to stop a little bit and think about wtf should I do for the CSE20.

02:12 checking CSE20 syllabus in order to make sure that I will not miss any assignment or quizzes.

02:19 I am safe until Aug.9th 3.00am(Sunday morning) and today is Friday so I guess my plan for tomorrow is just to catch up all the lectures for CSE20 and finish its homework.

02:31 Emptiness has refilled my heart. I kind of finished all the tasks I have today but I do not think it’s time to go to bed yet and to be honest, I have no idea what I should do. The only thing that I know is that I do not want to sleep yet.

02:36 I attempt to open YouTube. Closed

02:38 Decided to find and download some T resources.

02:58 Have already trash talked on some stupid social media for almost 20 minutes. Time to heat up hot dogs!

LSSC-2020 JAN

Jan 6th: This Is It Folks: Trump Can Wage War With No Understanding Of The Consequences

If you can watch Youtube for whatever the reason it is, just watch the video below.

新年问好之后直入主题:“There recently have been momentous world-shaking events”(最近发生了一件让世界震惊的历史性大事件–暗指Trump暗杀了Qassem Soleimani )

然后Stephen把这个活动中的名人跟Iran发生的事情联系在了一起,“Including Salma Hayek, whose Guccid Dress featured a neckline that didnot leava much to the imagination unless you are imaging an endless quagmire in the middle east” In order to says that “This is the folks”.

前面的引子算是引完了,接下来便是Stephen开始对Trump干的事情的狂轰滥炸,stephen调侃道,这则新闻如同与过去三年听到的新闻一样,“it was not the baggy suits, it was not covfefe, it was his ability to wage war with no understanding of the consequesces and no one can stop him.”

Stephen

Stephen 随后发表了他对这件事情的看法:“I don’t know is what Trump did was a good idea or a bad idea. But I do know that it’s a big idea.,”

另一件可以确定的事情是Iran对Trump所作的事情感到十分的upset(这该怎么翻译,伤心or愤怒?)

Trump is not backing down
Trump is not backing down
Trump is not backing down

Stephen:”It’s really strange to use the word’alllowed’.”(我同意)

Stephen(讽刺的口吻):“Your Honor, Ted Bundy was ALLOWED to murder over 30 people in the 1970s and I can not stab one guy? Does not work that way.”

(Ted Bundy

Trump’s speech at Jan,3th 2020

You know what that means: 2003 is back, baby! In 17 years, we ve come full circle, from yellow lake to chocolate cake; from W.M.D to K.F.C; from ‘shock and awe’ to ‘shockingly awful’.”

Fences

The questions below all come from past AP English Literature exams. Select one of the questions provided here and write the intro and the first body paragraph. That’s all we are doing for this essay (given the holiday season). The body paragraph should include at least three quotations from the text.

A symbol is an object, action, or event that represents something or that creates a range of associations beyond itself. In literary works, a symbol can express an idea, clarify the meaning, or enlarge literal meaning.

Focusing on one symbol (the fence), write an essay analyzing how that symbol functions in Fences and what it reveals about Troy and about the meaning of the work as a whole.

Choose a novel or play that depicts a conflict between a parent (or a parental figure) and a son or daughter. Write an essay in which you analyze the source of the conflict and explain how the conflict contributes to the meaning of Fences. (Write about Troy’s conflict with Cory.)

“August Wilson did not name his play, Fences, simply because the dramatic action depends strongly on the building of a fence in the Maxson’s backyard. Rather, the characters lives change around the fence-building project which serves as both a literal and a figurative device, representing the relationships that bond and break in the arena of the backyard. The fact that Rose wants the fence built adds meaning to her character because she sees the fence as something positive and necessary. Bono observes that Rose wants the fence built to hold in her loved ones. To Rose, a fence is a symbol of her love and her desire for a fence indicates that Rose represents love and nurturing. Troy and Cory on the other hand think the fence is a drag and reluctantly work on finishing Rose’s project. Bono also observes that to some people, fences keep people out and push people away. Bono indicates that Troy pushes Rose away from him by cheating on her. Troy’s lack of commitment to finishing the fence parallels his lack of commitment in his marriage. The fence appears finished only in the final scene of the play, when Troy dies and the family reunites. The wholeness of the fence comes to mean the strength of the Maxson family and ironically the strength of the man who tore them apart, who also brings them together one more time, in death.”

Excerpt from sparknotes.com

Rose loves her family. She wants to keep everyone together and plays peacemaker to achieve this end. The fence she wants Troy and Cory to build around the yard symbolizes her goal. Troy and Cory can’t understand why she wants the fence, but Bono can. He says to them, “People … build fences to keep people in. Rose wants to hold on … She loves you.” Troy and Cory’s inability to understand why they need the fence is what makes it all the more necessary. The two most important people in her life do not see their house as a loving one and are aching to get out.

The one civil conversation Troy and Cory have is when they begin working on the fence. While building the fence, Cory tells Troy he should buy a television. Troy eventually agrees to form a partnership; if Cory can raise half the money for the television, Troy will match it. The fence-building project comes too late, however, and is not strong enough to hold the family together.

Excerpt from coursehero.com

Another vital symbol in the play is fences. Throughout the play Troy neglects to build fences that Rose has ordered him. His negligence to build the fence symbolically stands for his negligence or irresponsibility towards his family. Troy’s lack of commitment to finishing the fence also parallels his lack of commitment in his marriage. It stands for the physical and emotional barrier between him and his son Cory. The fence is different for different characters in the play. For Rose, it is a means to keep his dear and loved ones within her reach, within the fence. It is positive and necessary for her to build. She frequently tells Troy and Cory to build the fence together, which implicitly means that she wants to reestablish the bond between father and the son. Rose may instinctively feel that her family is disintegrating, and the fence is her way of trying to symbolically hold it together. For Bono, the fence is symbolic to the betrayal of Troy to his wife. For Troy fence is the replica of all the barriers he has faced in his life. It was his cruel and abusive father. Then it was poverty and homelessness. Next it was the racism that kept him from the professional baseball career that he rightly deserved.

Race relationship is fence./Father-son relationship is fence./Husband-wife relationship is fence.

  “Father-son relationship is fence.”

  “Husband-wife relationship is fence.”

Perfect Timing。

Here’s my essay:

Fences, written by August Wilson, is a story about its main character, Troy, whose job is to lift the garbage. Because of the unfair treatment he received when he was young, he betrayed his wife. At the end of the play, all the people in his family came to his funeral. “Fence” is a really important object in this play, not only because that it’s the name of this play, but also because that “fence” is the symbol that represents a lot of things in this play. By the use of “fence”, Wilson is able to help his readers to understand the meaning of this play and tell them that “people nowadays live in a lot of fences and the only way to break those fences is the love”.

The first “fence” in the play should be the “fence” between the black people and white people in the United States. Troy was a really good baseball player but he’s not able to get into the Major League because he’s black. This unfair treatment made Troy change a lot, especially his understanding of how to live as a black person. Therefore, when Cory told him that he wanted to join the football team in the college instead of doing his job to earn the money, Troy felt really angry and refused him:” I told that boy about that football stuff. The white man ain’t gonna let him get nowhere with that football”(12). Another “fence” between black people and white people that Troy found is that “ I went to Mr. Rand and asked him—’Why? Why you got the white mens driving and the colored lifting?’ Told him, ‘What’s the matter, don’t I count?’”(3) and this “fence” is found by Troy after he got into work. Even though there’s no single white character in the play, but the effect that the white people and the “fences” between white and black people brought exist everywhere in the play. However, later in the play, there’s some evidence in the play showing that some of the fences between white and black had been broke because Troy finally became a truck driver even though he did not have a driving license: “Driving ain’t nothing. All you do is point the truck where you want it to go. Driving ain’t nothing”(61).

World of Attack&Defense Day1

Hey guys, here’s CHENNIGHT, the best programmer one day in the future. Today is the second last day of my winter break and I still have a lot of essays to write and I did not start doing my HW for the winter break yet.

Whatever, today is a boring day, when I browse a boring forum about CS, I found a really interesting thing(with a really silly name: The world of attack&defense, a Chinese CS website) and it seems that I can find a lot of thing fun here and Let’s go.

I am more interested in web and definitely and new for this stuff so choose exercise area (after I click this, I find there are a lot of practice problems for me to do, just like the picture below shows)

Actually not a lot. There are just only twelve questions.

Start from the first one: view_Source(Sounds really easy for me hn?)

It’s actually pretty confusing for me, as you can see below(hope you can understand English, the description of this question is that a teacher asks Ning to find out a resource code for a website but Ning found the right click of his mouse does not work…hmmm…). This description is not helpful at all.

Let me try what will happen if I click the button here(showing the scene).

After I click the button, I got an IP address and also I got the source code of that IP address. (Ctrl+U)

But I still do not know what I am doing and what should I do

Maybe I should just type in the cyberpeace#? (I do not know what does cyberspeace mean though)

And…. It’s incorrect.

I tried a lot of ways and all of them do not work. I even tried looking the “answer” of it and it’s still pretty confusing.

This is what I did but I did not get the thing that I want.

After a few thousands year, I type in the same thing and it works. (so confused)

Anyway, let us focus on the second question.

It’s a question about the “robot” protocol on the web.

This one is much easier than the first one. The IP address I got is ” http://111.198.29.45:45769/ ” and what should I do is just add “robots.txt” after this address. Therefore I go to the address” http://111.198.29.45:45769/robots.txt” and then I got information from this address.

And then go the address” http://111.198.29.45:45769/flag_1s_h3re.php” so that we can get the flag.

EZ question. Move to the next question.

Btw, here’s the information on what’s robots protocol.

It’s a question about back-up. This is another easy question. The back-up file should be/index.php.bak

I can not open this .bak file directly so I choose to open cmd and use “type” to show the information.

And…. The flag is here. I can move to the next question.

This question is quite interesting. Cookie in web does not equal to the cookie that we eat. Fun.

Do not want to say much trash talk here. Just move to the next question.

How to click the disabled button?

Got the Flag

Attention, please!

In order to finish these easy questions Faster, I am gonna put the questions and pictures. Only a little trash talk you will see later.

WAD WEB-weak_auth

Problem

This is a really difficult question. For all the things that I do not know how to do it, I choose to use google or Youtube. And for this problem, I need to use a tool called BurpSuite.

It may take a while for me to finish this question.

So. that’s all for today.

首先,有啥不懂问youtube,youtube搜索:how to download through pip

you-get requires FFmpeg

CMD told me that”you-get” is neither a command nor exe

Programmer‘s Diary 01/03/20

Python says that she does not like me

Today is the first Friday in 2020. The weather is cloudy(What a Nice weather WOW). If you are lucky enough to have a chance to read today’s Chinese version diary, you’ll know that I wrote a lot of sh**tty stuff of what happened this morning, which I do not want to rewrite it again.

After I came back home, I decided to fight with Python. Let me tell you why I hate python so much before I officially start to write my diary. First, python is the first programming language for me and I learned it in my primary school when I know only a little bit of English word and nothing about programming. I remembered that I tried a lot to try to understand Python and you know, it’s really difficult. In other words, Python is the experience that I do not even want to think about. Secondly, in the past few years, I tried several times to install Python on my Pc but it seems it does not work. I was so confused about the Python IDE and the Python environment.

Anyway, today, me, CHENNIGHT, is going to conquer this problem.

My Goal today: install Python environment or IDE or whatever and install you-get in Python and then use you-get to download some videos from Youtube.

First Step: Ask Youtube: how to download through pip

And then I found this useful video

And actually it works pretty well. :>

And after I got this, I am gonna install you-get. Just google “you-get” and I think I can find the official website or the official GitHub website.

Here is what I found on the official GitHub website(ignore that I visit the Chinese Version). It seems that I can just simply use pip in cmd to install you-get.

Installed successfully. (Btw, why they put$ before “pip3 install you-get”)

And I am gonna learn how to use you-get. I should be able to find some useful information on the previous website.

At this time, I met the first problem. While I am trying to find some information that can tell me how to use you-get, I find I forget a really important thing.

you-get requires FFmpeg

I used FFmpeg before when I used youtube-dl. But at the time when I use youtube-dl, I did not download it through pip, I downloaded the .exe file and what I need to do is just put three FFmpeg files into the folder which has youtube-dl.exe. This time I used pip to download you-get and where should I put FFmpeg? The website does not tell me anything about it. (-1 star on you github project)

When we have problems, what should we do? Ask Youtube.

And…. Did not find anything useful. I tried to download directly through you-get and this is what happened.

CMD told me that”you-get” is neither a command nor exe

I remembered I have this kind of problems before but it seems too difficult to solve so that I gave up. I hope I will not give up this time.

It’s almost an hour later. I finally find what’s happened. I did not add the directory of you-get in to my Path Variable. After I fixed this problem, I find another one. Youtube-dl and you-get can not work properly and the reasons are unknown.

And I am done again. I hate Python. I give up.
